SPEAKER_00:Hi, hello. Welcome to the Aesthetic Report, a podcast by Dermoscope. My name is Dorian Reyes, editor of Dermoscope magazine and producer of the very pod you're listening to right now. Thank you for tuning in to this mini episode where I catch you up on all things Dermoscope. Allow me to also welcome you to the end of the year. 2025 was a doozy, at least for us. 50 years we've celebrated all year long, and let me tell you, I'm a bit partied out. It was a beautiful time, don't get me wrong, but I'm looking forward to some normalcy of 2026. Of course, that doesn't take away from all the amazing support we received this year. I'd like to thank you for celebrating 50 years with us. Without you, we would truly be nothing. Before we end on that note, we have the twinkling lights of the holiday season to get through. Whether you celebrate Christmas and the like, or you forego the holiday season altogether, I hope you can rejoice in the fact that it is the end of a year. The passing of time is a privilege, and you've made it another turn around the sun. And if you're listening to this, you're investing in yourself. And for that, we are so proud of you. May 2026 be even richer. Without further ado, let's get to the December rundown. This month we bring you a live webinar from the one and only Dr. Christine Schremeck, inventors of the OG Green Peel. This class is called Peeling Explained Chemical Enzyme Physical and Biological Approaches, and it's being hosted by their U.S. Head of Training and Education, Victoria Wake. Prepare to have the peeling process broken down like you've never heard it before. We, of course, will cover the traditional AHAs and BHAs, but we'll also get into the enzyme peels and the elusive herbal peels and how each works biologically with skin. If you're a peel enthusiast and you've been looking for a peel that works for even your most complicated cases, this may be the ticket. It's all happening on December 8th at 11 a.m. Central. In addition to the presentation, you get the chance to ask all your peeling questions to a nationwide expert. It's a 60-minute class, and you can RSVP for free through the link in the episode description. From strictly digital to the hard copy of the magazine, I present you with the December issue. This features the long-awaited results of our annual cover contest. 2025's winner is a small lady with big goals. It's Tucson's own Skyly Edmondston. She's an esthetician, she's an educator, a business owner, and a community advocate. I'm not even sure where to begin when it comes to Skyly's story because there's so many layers to it. First off, let's do the December cover. Isn't she just fabulous? I was on site for this photo shoot and it's amazing to see how beautiful Skyly's energy and the spirit of her space can be captured by a truly gifted photographer. When you walk into her wellness collective and her treatment room, it can only be described as walking into an Arizona sunset. It's warm and peaceful and you just want to hang out all day. For Skyly's cover story, we got into what makes that all possible. Skylee is a soloist in the simplest of terms, but she's also the director of aesthetics for Empire Beauty School and the owner of Fusion Beauty Collective, an intimate alternative to the typical soloist suite business model. And between all that, Skyly's practice functions as a nonprofit providing complimentary treatments for oncology patients. There's so much more to her story, so be sure to check out the full article and get ready to apply for when 2026 cover contest applications open in April. Of course, being Dermoscope, we had to give our readers some generic education to digest. The theme for this issue is beauty, and I had quite the time exploring this aspect of the industry that often gets left by the wayside. This issue features primary articles on how skin has become the new makeup written by Chicago's own Tory Prince, how the bridal market is booming, and how estheticians can get a piece of the billion dollar pie written by veteran makeup artist Amanda Azar Walsh, and what's new on the forefront for hair restoration and regrowth, written by Saluma's Annette King. Lastly, a look at the ever-popular lash and eyebrow world and how the at-home alternatives just can't compare. The scope this department has even more great short reads. So if beauty's not your thing, there's something for everyone in this issue. It's all happening in the print and digital issue, so be sure to check that out. If you haven't already subscribed, you can find a copy linked in the episode description. That's all my time for December for the year, actually. This is the last season five overview you'll get out of me. Thank you for tuning in to another great year of the pod. We have some excellent guests lined up to close out the year. I will see you in 2026. Bye, Dermies.
